2018 Voluntary National Review (VNR)
In 2018, Kiribati presented its Voluntary National Review (VNR) at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, detailing the country's progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The VNR process was integrated with the Mid-Term Review of the KDP, providing a unified assessment of national development goals alongside international commitments. The review process involved extensive stakeholder consultations, including government agencies, community groups, and development partners, to ensure a comprehensive evaluation. The VNR highlighted significant development challenges, such as climate change impacts, limited institutional and financial capacity, and the need for improved data collection and analysis. It also emphasized the importance of continued support from development partners to achieve the SDGs.
